Example of Lug Assembly.
This is one of the many items that fall outside the realm of normal spring making and brings challenges to the manufacturer. It consists of a large spring just over 10 inches long and using 1/4 inch 17-7 wire with two forged terminal lugs that have been machined. The lugs are inserted into the spring body at each end and then we draw down the ends to keep the lugs from falling out. This allows for the spring to be extended by pulling on the ends while allowing them to rotate as needed.
